MEET NATALINE

Financial education with a family-centered perspective.

I’m Nataline Oyekan, RN, MHSA—a healthcare leader, financial educator, licensed financial professional, and advocate for helping individuals and families make more informed decisions about protection, preparation, leadership, and legacy.

My work is grounded in a simple belief:

Stronger futures are built through education, preparation, protection, and intentional leadership.

Education first. Personalized conversations. No pressure.

My Story

Why this work became personal to me.

For much of my professional life, I have worked in healthcare—supporting individuals and families during moments when education, advocacy, and preparation matter most.

As a registered nurse and healthcare leader, I learned to listen carefully, explain complicated information clearly, advocate for people, and help families navigate important decisions.

But healthcare also showed me something beyond health.

An unexpected illness, loss of income, family transition, or other major life event can quickly affect a household’s finances, responsibilities, stability, and plans for the future.

That realization changed the way I thought about financial preparation.

I began asking questions such as:

What happens when a family depends on an income that suddenly changes?

How prepared are we for the things we hope never happen?

Are we simply earning and paying bills—or are we intentionally preparing for the future and the next generation?

Those questions led me deeper into financial education, protection planning, and long-term financial preparation.

Today, I bring the same education-first, family-centered mindset that has shaped my healthcare career into conversations about financial protection, retirement preparation, children’s financial foundations, and legacy.

“Preparation matters before the unexpected happens. My goal is to help families become more informed, intentional, and prepared for the future they are building.”

From Healthcare to Financial Education

Different field. Same commitment to education and preparation.

At first glance, healthcare leadership and financial education may seem like very different areas.

To me, they are connected by the same principles:

Education. Advocacy. Preparation. Protection.

In healthcare, people often need someone who can take complicated information and explain it in a way that makes sense.

Financial decisions are no different.

I believe people should be able to ask questions without feeling embarrassed or pressured. They should understand the options being discussed, know why a strategy may or may not make sense, and have enough information to make their own informed decisions.

That philosophy shapes the way I approach financial education today.

I am not interested in beginning with a product.

I prefer to begin with understanding.

What I believe

Financial confidence begins with understanding.

Financial decisions become more meaningful when people understand the why behind them.

Understanding

I believe people make stronger financial decisions when they understand their options and the reasoning behind them.

Protection

I believe protection deserves consideration before a crisis makes preparation urgent.

Preparation

I believe retirement and long-term financial planning should begin well before the future arrives.

Family Education

I believe children benefit when healthy conversations about money, responsibility, and financial decision-making begin at home.

Legacy & Leadership

I believe legacy is about more than money or property. It also includes the knowledge, values, habits, preparation, opportunities, and leadership we pass forward.

WHY LEGACY BUILDERS LD

Building stronger futures. Developing leaders. Creating legacies.

Legacy Builders LD grew from my desire to create an educational space where financial conversations feel clearer, more practical, and more connected to real family life.

The LD stands for Leadership Development because I believe building a lasting legacy requires more than financial products. It requires knowledge, responsibility, intentional decisions, and the confidence to lead ourselves and our families well.

It requires people who are willing to learn.
People who make informed decisions.
People who take responsibility for what they can control.
People who share what they learn with others.
And people who understand that the decisions we make today can influence generations tomorrow.

My goal is not to define what financial success should look like for someone else. Every individual and family has different priorities, responsibilities, values, and goals.

Instead, my goal is to help people become more informed, ask better questions, understand their options, and make intentional decisions that support the future they are working to build.

More knowledge. Stronger families. Brighter tomorrows.

Our Approach

Education Before Products

Understanding should come before action. Financial decisions can feel overwhelming when people are expected to choose before they fully understand what they are considering. My approach begins with education—helping you understand the purpose, features, considerations, and questions that matter before deciding what, if anything, comes next.

Family-Centered Thinking

Financial decisions do not exist in isolation. Income, protection, retirement, children, caregiving responsibilities, values, and future goals often affect one another. Conversations therefore begin with the bigger picture and the people and responsibilities that matter most to you.

Personalized Conversations

There is no single financial strategy that is right for every individual or household. Your priorities, responsibilities, current resources, questions, and comfort level are unique. The goal is to understand your situation first rather than begin with a predetermined recommendation.

Long-Term Perspective

A decision that works today should also be considered in light of where life may be going. Career changes, growing families, retirement, aging parents, changing income, and evolving goals can all affect financial priorities. Long-term thinking means considering both immediate needs and the future you are preparing for.

Faith & Stewardship

My faith influences how I think about responsibility, preparation, generosity, leadership, and stewardship. I believe the resources, knowledge, and opportunities entrusted to us should be managed thoughtfully—with wisdom, gratitude, responsibility, and an awareness of how today’s decisions may affect others tomorrow.

The Legacy Builders LD approach is simple: understand first, consider the whole picture, make intentional decisions, and prepare with the future in mind.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM NATALINE

A note from me to you.

You do not need to have every financial answer before you begin.

You do not need to understand every financial term.

And you do not need to have everything perfectly organized.

You simply need a place to start.

Ask the question.

Learn what you do not yet know.

Look honestly at where you are.

Then take the next appropriate step.

My role is to help make that process clearer, more educational, and less intimidating.
